Great Victory in the War

The US imperialists suddenly launched an all-out war against the young DPRK on June 25 1950.

The US, over-fattened through WWII, ranted that it would end the Korean War with a “shining victory” in a matter of one day.

The US mobilized in the war huge forces of some two millions of troops including a third of its ground force, a fifth of its air force, most of its Pacific Fleet, troops from 15 satellite states, the south Korean puppet army and the Japanese militarists, and enormous latest war equipment, and employed the most savage war methods and means unheard-of in the world war history.

However, the Korean War was ended with a bitter defeat of the US, beyond its intention.

The US, at the time, did not know enough about Korea and despised it too much.

The US imperialists could not know the might of Korea where President Kim Il Sung who was possessed of gifted military wisdom as his inborn disposition and brought about the historical cause of the national liberation by defeating the brigandish Japanese imperialists armed to their teeth through the 20 year-long hard-fought war without any support of regular army nor state rear, was commanding the war, and the army and people were rallied rock-firm around him.

Right here lies the cause of the US tragedy and defeat.

The great victory in the war was a brilliant triumph achieved by the wise leadership of the President and the spiritual power of tens of millions of the army and people who forged a fate-sharing whole with their leader.

With the brilliant victory in the bloody do-or-die face-off with the US imperialists and their followers, the Korean people honorably defended the country’s sovereignty and dignity and smashed the US moves for a new world war thus safeguarded the security and peace of humankind.

Therefore, greeting the significant day of victory, the south Korean people and the progressive mankind in the world widely introduce the exploits of war victory of President Kim Il Sung who defeated the US, the chieftain of imperialism, in the Fatherland Liberation War and secured socialism, the world peace and justice, bearing unbounded reverence for him.

The south Korean people say that the undying historical feat of General Kim Il Sung who turned the tragedy of June 25 into the victory of July 27 showcases that the army and people led by a great brilliant commander have a tremendous power and can beat back any aggression of big enemies to attain the final victory.

They praise in unison that the July 27 victory which demonstrated the mettle of heroic Korea throughout the world is a shining fruition of the unique war tactics and commandership of great President Kim Il Sung.

Marking the 58th war victory of the Korean people different countries and progressive organizations, through celebration rallies and special editions on newspapers, broadcasts and internet, stress that thanks to the Juche-oriented military idea, strategy and tactics and outstanding commandership of President Kim Il Sung the brilliant victory was gained in the Korean War.

The immortal exploits of victory in the war and the tradition of victory created by the President is being brilliantly carried forward by leader Kim Jong Il, the greatest brilliant commander, and the great feats of victory in the war performed by the President will be forever.
