Proud Course of the DPRK

That great President Kim Il Sung founded the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on September 9, 1948 was a historic event which opened up a new phase of building a people-centered socialist state.

For 60-odd years since its foundation the republic has traversed the road of proud victory and eye-catching prosperity.

After less than 2 years since its foundation the young republic inflicted the first-ever defeat on the US imperialists who boasted of being the “strongest” in the world and the heroic Korean people carried out the historical task of industrialization on the debris of the war in a short period of less than 14 years by displaying their indomitable mental power. So it became a miraculous country dignified as a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence.

All the miracles and changes taken place in Korea prevailed with backwardness and poverty century after century are attributed to the clairvoyant wisdom and energetic leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

The undying exploits of President Kim Il Sung, who built up Korea which was eclipsed on the world map in the past as a dignified independent state and a socialist power centered on the popular masses, will shine for all ages.

Today the history of the republic’s prosperity shines further more thanks to the Songun revolutionary leadership of great leader Kim Jong Il.

Thanks to his Songun leadership the idea and desire of the President for building a rich and powerful country materialized into a striking reality and the appearance of Songun Korea has been radically refurbished.

As far as the Korean nation holds in high esteem leader Kim Jong Il, brilliant commander of Baekdu born of Heaven, and follows his great Songun politics, only victory and glory are promised for the future of the DPRK.
