The Korean nation expresses their ardent reverence and yearning for Chairman Kim Jong Il, a prominent national hero produced by Mt. Paektu.

With the approach of the Day of the Shining Star, the south Korean people extend their heartfelt respects to Chairman Kim Jong Il, the sun of Songun and the eternal image of the great Paektusan nation, looking back upon his greatness and imperishable achievements.

A south Korean historian wrote as following in his article titled “Mt. Paektu is the native place of Kim Jong Il.”

“Chairman Kim Jong Il was born in Mt. Paektu, the ancestral mountain, at a historic time when Korea’s liberation is approaching. His birth at a log cabin in a primeval forest as a son of guerilla in the battlefield for national liberation-it is a sign that he is a great person born of heaven.

He grew up in blizzard and rain, hearing the gun reports during the great anti-Japanese war as a lullaby.

That’s why he cherished soul and spirit of Mt. Paektu, had great ambition to inherit the Juche cause and was possessed of rare wisdom, inflexible volition and boldness, and broadmindedness.”

The revolutionary career of Kim Jong Il was that of a great thinker, statesman and illustrious commander who devoted all his to the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause of Juche and the revolutionary cause of Songun and made strenuous efforts for the national prosperity.

In particular, he, deeply grieving over the national division, worked heart and soul to throughout his life to hand down a reunified country to his fellow countrymen, laying firm foundations for the independent reunification, peace and prosperity of the nation.
