A bitter grudge
A bitter grudge
A rally was held in Seoul on June 12 with participation of members of over 150 civic organizations criticizing the case of killing two schoolgirls 9 years ago and environmental pollution by the GIS in south Korea. The speakers at the rally vehemently denounced the US soldiers for having killed two schoolgirls by an armored vehicle nine years ago. They revealed the fact that the US troops buried defoliant and other toxic materials in south Korea. They stressed that they will satisfy their grudge by launching a nationwide struggle against the GIs’ atrocity. They chanted slogans “Revise SOFA, it is wish of two girls!” and “Mad beef on table, defoliant in river, the US should make an apology!” Prior to this, a memorial photo exhibition was held on June 8, in Seoul. The civic organizations including the Solidarity for Progress and People for Peace and Reunification and some members of the opposition parties participated there. The participants urged the south Korean authorities to abolish lopsided ties with the Washington and wrest apology and reparation. |
