Now the whole of south Korea, the sky, land and seas, is overcast with gunpowder smoke and boom of guns due to the north-targeted war drills by the US imperialists and the south Korean warmongers.

So the people's shouts protesting against them are ever mounting

On March 3, the South Headquarters of the National Alliance for the Country’s Reunification, the People for Peace and Reunification, the Solidarity for Progress and other civic organizations in south Korea held a rally in Seoul denouncing the aggressive war drills being staged by the US imperialists and the puppet warmongers.

Women’s organizations grouping the National Women’s Solidarity, the National Federation of Women Peasants Associations, the Women Committee of the United Progressive Party and other 60-odd organizations held a press conference on March 6 in front of the US embassy under the theme “Stop the south Korea-US joint military drills which aggravate the military tension”.

Representative Son Mi-hui of the National Women’s Solidarity held that the “Key Resolve”, “Foal Eagle” and “Ssangryong” (resumed in 23 years) , detailed and offensive exercises on preemptive strike and occupying the whole areas of the north in a bid to bring down the north Korean government after terming it as enemy, should be immediately halted.

Participants in the rally chanted such slogans as “Stop the south Korea-US joint war drills!”, “Stop the war drills fraught with misgivings about creating the security atmosphere of large-scale war ahead of elections!” and “Stop the war drills which destroy the peace on the Korean Peninsula!”.

The Korean Peninsula is now actually in a touch-and-go situation seen on the eve of a war.

Not content with the large-scale war drills against the north in collusion with the US imperialists, the south Korean puppets committed super-large provocative crimes of defaming the supreme dignity of the DPRK.

Such acts are an extremely dangerous attempt to unleash a war against the north and an anti-nation, anti-reunification crime to block the nation’s reconciliation and unity and the improvement of the inter-Korean relations.

Our compatriots who have set store by peace and vigorously struggled for peaceful reunification will valiantly turn out in the patriotic sacred war to smash the Lee group of traitors running amuck on the war provocation against peace and reunification, and resolutely punish it in the name of the times and history.

For Broadcasting Trusted by People

Recently in south Korea the struggle of reporters and unionists of broadcast companies for a fair broadcasting is ever mounting day by day.

The Lee Myung-bak fascist clan has made a mess of the south Korean broadcasting completely for 4 years of tenure.

The clan illegally replaced the heads of the broadcasting companies with its close lackeys, who suppressed and fired conscientious media men and destroyed the public broadcast wielding the disciplinary sword.

They made broadcast of praising pro-Japanese factions and dictators as well as the undisguised broadcast in favor of the regime while burying the regime’s irregularities and governance failures and distorting or non-mentioning of the people's struggle for independence, democracy and reunification including their struggle against the FTA.

They have really served as a mouthpiece for the regime propaganda.

As a result, the broadcasting companies subjected to the people's anger and denunciation and triggered the simultaneous struggle of those reporters and unionists against the regime’s control over and destruction of media and for the fair broadcasting.

News agencies KBS, MBC and YTN held a ceremony on March 5 in Seoul to declare a joint strike of the three broadcasting companies for ousting the parachuted presidents, restoring the dismissed media men and fair broadcast. In the declaration they stressed that the trade unions of the three broadcasting companies launch a joint strike for the first time in broadcasting history and expressed their firm resolve to continue the struggle till their demands are met in the face of the atrocious authority.

On March 6 the Struggle Committee to Check Biased Broadcast of the Democratic United Party decided to wage a struggle in solidarity with the aforesaid 3 broadcasting companies.

It asserted that it declares the broadcasters’ struggle a holy war for restoring democracy and justice, and stressed it will take all-people action to support their righteous struggle hand in hand with civic organizations.

Now the south Korean people are rendering positive support to the ever-growing solidarity strike of the broadcasting companies and joining in it.

The illegal and biased broadcast orchestrated by the authorities should become a spokesman for justice and conscience and a fair broadcast trusted by the people at an earlier date.
