Great WPK Shining With August Names of Peerless Great Men

The Workers’ Party of Korea significantly celebrates its 68th founding anniversary.

The proud 68-year history of the WPK is associated with the sacred names of the peerless great men.

The Down-with Imperialism Union formed by great President Kim Il Sung in October, 1926 was a starting point for founding a new-type revolutionary party.

Proceeding from the lesson of the preceding revolutionary movements of the working class, the President made up his mind to found a party which can assume the role of a general staff of the Korean revolution on the solid organizational and ideological foundations for founding a party, not by hastily announcing the party center.

He formulated such an idea and set forth the policy of founding a revolutionary party independently, thus formed the ever first party organization in 1930.

The President ensured the strong organizational and ideological foundations for party founding and the glorious revolutionary traditions, ever-lasting cornerstone of the Korean revolution during the anti-Japanese armed struggle.

So after the country’s liberation, he convened the historic meeting for founding the party and declared the founding of the WPK throughout the world on October 10, 1945.

With the WPK, the Korean people could triumphantly shape their destiny with their own reliable vanguard force and a new history of building a revolutionary party could be unfolded in the era of independence.

The President who realized the cause of party founding originally and brilliantly strengthened and developed the WPK into a revolutionary party with the firm monolithic ideological system and a mass party which struck its root deep in the broad segments of the people by the superb and seasoned leadership.

The WPK founded and developed by the President displayed its might further more as an invincible party under the wise leadership of great leader Kim Jong Il.

During the leadership of the Party for nearly half a century, he developed the WPK into the steal-like vanguard ranks which achieved a firm unity and cohesion on the basis of the Juche idea and a militant and experienced political guide by consolidating the Party and enhancing its leading role.
