Chairman Kim Jong Il Starts Work at the Central Committee of the WPK

On June 19, 1964, 50 years ago, Chairman Kim Jong Il started work at the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

It was a historical event which provided a landmark for a new turn in developing and strengthening the WPK and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Thanks to his leadership of the WPK a firm guarantee for brilliantly carrying forward the Korean revolution pioneered in Mt. Paektu was laid and the WPK could develop into a party of the leader and proudly display its dignity as the guide of revolution that leads socialist Korea to prosperity.

Kim Jong Il is a peerless elder statesman who had led the WPK and the Korean revolution to only victory for decades with rare ideo-theoretical wisdom, distinguished leadership ability and lofty popular personality.

He developed the WPK into a powerful Juche-type revolutionary party which the uniqueness of the leader’s ideology and leadership is firmly guaranteed, fully shoulders and looks after the people's destiny and makes the independent prosperity of the country and nation putting up the arms of revolution.

These exploits he performed in party building will shine forever as the eternal treasures for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.

Kim Jong Il is an extraordinary statesman and genius of creation and construction who displayed the dignity and prestige of Kim Il Sung’s Korea throughout the world and unfolded a new history of building a thriving nation in Korea by wisely leading the WPK.

He, with the loftiest ideal of patriotism and adamant volition, arranged the historic north-south summit meetings and provided the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, thus opened up a fresh turning phase for reunification movement, and further enhanced the DPRK’s external authority and influence, remarkably stepping up the international solidarity with the Korean revolution.
